Melissa Clark

Melissa Clark oversees the overall financial health of Primera Engineers, Ltd., based in Chicago, Illinois. She manages all aspects of the corporate accounting and finance functions with a focus on strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, process improvement, and cash management. She also guides and leads the team in charge of the daily accounting and finance activities such as invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Melissa has 29 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Before joining Primera, she was Controller for two architecture and engineering firms in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is also involved in the community, serving as Treasurer of the Primera Foundation, on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for Green City Market and Chicago Chefs Cook, Co-Chair and Steering Committee Member of CFO Leadership Council (Chicago Chapter), Board Member and Finance Forward Committee Chair for Financial Executives International (Chicago Chapter), Board President of The Evolved Network, Member of the Advisory Council for Youth Guidance’s WOW (Working on Womanhood) Program, on the National Advisory Council for Chief Executive Group’s Women Leaders Connect, Advisor to the Women in Leadership Program at Rockford University, and a member of Chicago United.

Melissa received the CFO of the Year award for Small Private Companies from Financial Executives International (Chicago Chapter) in 2021, named 2022 Notable Executives of Color in Finance and 2024 Notable Black Leaders by Crain’s Business, and named 2025 Chicago Titan 100.

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management Accounting and an MBA from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
