Dan Gallas

Dan Gallas is a senior financial leader, a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA) with over 25 years of experience serving as CFO, VP of Finance and Corporate Controller within a variety of private and publicly held Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Professional Services and Real Estate firms. More recently Dan has served as Principal and CFO of Sunset MAS, LLC providing Interim, Fractional and FT Accounting and Finance services to firms with revenues of $50M to $300M in both growth and turnaround environments.

Throughout Dan’s career, he has overseen corporate turnarounds, provided accounting and financial expertise for joint venture contracts, executed multiple financial and managerial reporting initiatives, implemented efficient accounting and finance policy and practices in concert with delivering process improvement strategies across all cross-functional areas.

Dan has a BS in Business Administration/Accounting from Roosevelt University, Chicago and an MBA in Corporate Leadership from Argosy University, Chicago. He is a Certified Mergers & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) through the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA).

Dan’s Board of Directors experience has included serving as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of The Institute for Therapy through the Arts(ITA) in Evanston, IL as well as holding prior Board of Director posts with the Prairie Crossing Charter School(PCCS) in Grayslake, IL. Dan has also held an Advisory Board Member role for Enterprise Fleet Management Vehicle Services in the Chicagoland market. 

In addition to being a member of the CFO-Mastermind Group, Dan’s other professional affiliations include active participation in the CFO-Leadership Group (LG), CFO-Leadership Council (CFOLC), Financial Executives Int'l (FEI), Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Dan lives in Evanston with wife Lisa Gallas and their two pugs, Daisy and Ziggy. Dan & Lisa have three grown children, MacKenzie (30), Savannah (28) and Griffin (25) all who attended Evanston TWP High School. For undergraduate study, Mackenzie attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL and both Savannah and Griffin attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.

Both Dan and Lisa enjoy traveling including attending local and national musical events while Dan personally enjoys bicycling, walking, Cubs baseball and is a classic & muscle car enthusiast and current member of the Cruisin Tigers GTO Club, GTOAA and the POCI.
